My brother was the main person who influenced me as a DJ. I learned to beatmatch on his roommates turntables a long time ago. One of the first genres of music that I started to DJ was House Music. House Music is the child of Disco Music from the 70's and is now widely known to be heard in the biggest clubs in the world.
I get asked quite a bit " Can you play House Music at our wedding?"
My answer is always YES!
As the party gets rolling and the night moves along, I like to push up the BPM's to a nice beat that people will enjoy. In terms of the last hour of the event, what seems to work is a nice mix of house music and hip hop to keep the crowd dancing.
